Differently Abled individuals Join Hyatt’s Fruit Mixing Ceremony

Thiruvananthapuram: As part of the Christmas celebrations, the fruit mixing ceremony — the first step in the preparation of the Christmas cake — was held at Hyatt Regency Thiruvananthapuram, with special guests magician Gopinath Muthukad and differently-abled individuals from the Different Art Centre.
The event, held at the Hyatt Regency in Vazuthacaud, saw the participation of Gopinath Muthukad, Executive Director of the Different Art Centre, along with differently-abled individuals and staff members of the Hyatt Regency, all coming together to mix various fruits with fruit juices.
Nibu Mathew, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Thiruvananthapuram, led the event.
Gopinath Muthukad remarked that it was a great privilege for the children with disabilities from the Different Art Centre to be part of such an event. He added that by including differently-abled individuals in the fruit mixing process, Hyatt had delivered a strong and meaningful message to society.
The inclusion of differently-abled individuals this year was part of Hyatt’s global initiative ‘World of Care’, which emphasizes care for the community and the planet, and also promotes social inclusion. Twelve differently-abled individuals, who have been trained in cake-making and are currently working at the ‘Up Cafe’ of the Different Art Centre, participated in the fruit mixing ceremony.
Executive Chef Senthil Kumar of Hyatt Thiruvananthapuram stated that beyond being a festive culinary tradition, the fruit mixing ceremony is a joyful expression of unity and hope for the upcoming Christmas season. By sharing this process with the children of the Different Art Centre, the hotel aimed to spread the true messages of Christmas — togetherness, love, and sharing.
Also present at the event were Dr. Anil Nair, Intervention Director at the Different Art Centre; linguist A.M. Marykutty; and various department heads from Hyatt Regency Thiruvananthapuram.
